Ken Russell's The Devils (18) Directors Cut
About
The Dukes screens Ken Russell's restored 4K director's cut of The Devils, the censored 1971 classic, in three showtimes.
Ken Russell's The Devils returns in a fully restored 4K version cut to the director's intentions, the first publicly released version of the film as he intended. Inspired by the true story of 17th-century priest Urbain Grandier, accused of bewitching a convent of nuns, the film explores religious persecution, collective hysteria and institutional corruption. The 114-minute film screens with no trailers or adverts, with content warnings for strong sex, nudity and violence. Screenings take place in the Round or Rake auditorium, with limited capacity in The Round.
