Disobeying Orders: G.I Resistance to the Vietnam War

This documentary short explores how American veterans of the Vietnam War returned home to become committed anti-war campaigners, weaving together their testimonies with archival footage and music.

Pam Sporn's 1990 documentary brings to light a little-known chapter of history through interviews with Black and white veterans, among them a Navy nurse court-martialled for her opposition to the conflict. Blending personal testimony with archival images and music, this short war and history documentary examines the movement of former soldiers who turned against the war they had fought in.
