Christmas Lights Switch-On 2026

A free festive day in Gravesend Town Centre with live music, street entertainment and the Christmas lights switch-on.

Gravesham's festive season opens with a free afternoon of entertainment across Gravesend Town Centre. The main stage on New Road runs from 13:30 to 16:45 with sets from Jason Allen Sway, K-POP All Stars and Gold, before the Mayor of Gravesham and stars of this year's panto The Wizard of Oz lead the crowd countdown to switch on the lights at 16:30. UK garage acts Lisa Maffia and MC Romeo then perform until 19:00. Street entertainment includes roaming elves, gingerbread men, walkabout reindeers, juggling elves, children's rides, a Santa Bus and a giant snow globe at St George's Shopping Centre.
