Silk Painting Creative Workshop

A two-hour beginner-friendly silk painting workshop at Liberation Art Gallery, creating a floral or sea life artwork on silk in an embroidery hoop.

This guided two-hour session introduces the basics of silk painting, showing how dyes flow on silk and how to layer colour to create soft floral or sea life designs. Participants work on silk stretched in an embroidery hoop, taking home a finished, ready-to-hang textile piece. The workshop follows a 'Slow Painting' approach that encourages an unhurried, mindful creative process, and is aimed at beginners and anyone curious about textile art, with all materials provided. It is led by Ruth Egon, a mixed media artist and resident artist at the gallery.
