Corporate Wild Work Day: Conservation Day near Lewes, East Sussex
About
A staff-group conservation day at Malling Down, combining hands-on habitat management with learning about the reserve’s wildlife and habitats. Tasks are chosen for the weather and season.
Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Wild Work Days give colleagues a practical day of habitat management at Malling Down while learning about its wildlife and habitats. Work depends on the weather and is confirmed nearer each date; the four published Malling Down pages do not specify individual tasks. Meet at the reserve car park at ///winner.adopters.slips. Free reserve parking is available; there are no public toilets on site, and Lewes town-centre toilets are about five minutes away by car. Wear outdoor clothes and sturdy boots or wellies, and bring refillable water; bring a packed lunch. Tools, gloves and safety equipment are provided, with a safety briefing; a first aider is available and participants are insured while volunteering. The downland setting may raise access questions, so contact the organiser about specific needs. The published sessions are 22 October, 26 November 2026, 28 January and 25 February 2027, 10:00–15:00 each day. Bookings are for groups of 6–30: 6–15 people £700 + VAT; 16–30 people £1,000 + VAT. These are group prices, not per-person prices.
