Paws on the Towpath: A Dog Friendly Guided Tour Along London's Historic Regent's Canal
About
A dog-friendly guided walk along the Regent's Canal towpath from Angel to Victoria Park, sharing canal history and animal stories.
This guided walk follows the Regent's Canal towpath from Angel, Islington through Hoxton and Haggerston to Victoria Park, passing narrowboats, old warehouses and locks. Along the way the guide covers the canal's history, from John Nash's original plan to today's floating bookshops and coffee boats, alongside animal-themed stories ranging from the dogs of the Athenian statesman Alcibiades to horse-drawn coal barges and the five lifesize sharks. The walk is a comfortable, predominantly flat amble with pauses for sniffing and coffee, ending in Victoria Park where dogs can run free. Dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcome, though a dog is not required to join.
