Effra Green Streets - Greening Brixton Neighbourhood to Improve Biodiversity

A GoodGym Lambeth volunteering session helping Effra Green Streets with greening and biodiversity tasks at Rattray Parklet in Brixton.

GoodGym Lambeth volunteers join local Effra Green Streets volunteers for a hands-on gardening session at Rattray Parklet. Tasks may include chipping old shrubs, weeding, digging a rain garden, building compost bays, collecting seeds and digging out tree and shrub stumps, with tasks adjusted to the group's numbers and physicality. Tools and gloves are provided, a risk assessment is available in advance, and a First Aider will be on site. The session supports Effra Green Streets' ongoing work creating pavement gardens, tree pit planting and gardens on the Brockwell Park Estate to boost biodiversity.
