Going Green – The Drive for Energy Efficiency
About
A free museum display at Riverside Museum exploring energy efficiency and low-emission transport, centred on an early Tesla Model S and a rare Honda Insight hybrid.
This display examines James Watt's legacy in a modern context, focusing on the drive for energy efficiency to combat climate change. Its centrepiece is a Tesla Model S P85+, believed to be the first Tesla acquired by a public museum in Scotland, shown alongside a rare 2000 Honda Insight Mk1 hybrid — one of only 239 sold in the UK. A section called Driving Out Emissions considers how greener vehicles can reduce emissions, with wider themes covering air quality testing, ocean monitoring, and different power sources from coal to wind and water.
