Epping Forest Fungi Walk
About
A beginner-friendly two-hour guided walk through Epping Forest exploring fungi identification, ecology and their role in the climate crisis.
Led by Environmental Education Officer and fungi enthusiast Abi, this leisurely evening walk explores Epping Forest in search of fungal life during autumn fungi season. Topics include fungi identification tips, the roles fungi play in forest ecosystems, what we can learn from them, and their importance to the climate crisis. There is time to photograph each species found, though no species can be guaranteed; this is not a foraging walk and no mushrooms are picked, in line with Epping Forest byelaws. Suitable for adults and children aged 8 and over, with under-18s accompanied by a parent or guardian.
