Repair Cafe

A free volunteer-run repair cafe where people bring clothes, small electrical appliances and IT equipment to be mended with expert guidance.

St Margaret's House hosts a Repair Cafe where volunteers help visitors mend and repair their own items. Volunteers guide people through clothing repairs such as sewing buttons, hemming and alterations, while a volunteer electrician looks at small household appliances and another helps with IT equipment and issues. Visitors should bring any needed parts such as zips, plugs or thread. The cafe is part of a collaboration with The Royal Foundation of St. Katherine and Poplar Union running monthly Repair Cafes across Tower Hamlets.
