Ukulele Part 3 - Jazz up Your Ukulele
About
A one-day ukulele workshop with Phil Doleman exploring 1920s and 30s Jazz Age playing, swing feel and jazz chords.
This full-day workshop takes players beyond basic three- or four-chord pop songs into 'Jazz Age' style ukulele playing, with an emphasis on swing and having fun. Participants learn jazz-sounding chords, ways of linking chords together, classic intros and endings, and danceable strumming patterns, using popular songs of the 1920s and 30s. The session runs 10am to 3pm with tea and coffee provided; participants should bring a packed lunch. It is aimed at adults aged 15+ who have completed beginners parts 1 and 2, can play a couple of common barre chords and have some experience of simple tablature.
