Honouring Our Communities: Black Stories Screening

An evening screening of short mobile-made films celebrating stories from Southampton's African, Caribbean and Black British communities for Black History Month.

Our Version Media and Mayflower Studios mark Black History Month with their annual Black Stories Screening, themed around this year's national theme of Honouring Our Communities. The evening opens with a drinks reception where guests can meet the team and storytellers, followed by a screening of up to ten short films made on mobile phones by participants of Our Version Media's Mobile Storytelling training. Each piece offers a first-hand account of life in the region's African, Caribbean and Black British communities, showcasing a month of learning in digital storytelling. Recommended for ages 12 and over, running approximately two hours with no interval.
