About

Weaver Margaret Jones gives a Guild talk tracing tapestry weaving from the late medieval period to her own narrative abstract work.

At this monthly London Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers meeting, Margaret Jones presents 'Tapestry: A woven narrative from the late medieval to modern times'. She offers a quick tour of tapestry weaving from the 1400s to her current work, examining European tapestry traditions and the narrative value of tapestry in times of illiteracy. She also discusses her own abstract works, which nonetheless carry a narrative within them.
