Horrockses Fashions: Everyday Glamour & the Art of British Ready-to-Wear

An eightieth-anniversary exhibition on Horrockses Fashions, showing how the Preston company combined couture ideas with printed cottons and artist-designed textiles.

Drawing on the Harris's extensive museum collection of Horrockses dresses, the exhibition traces the label's full-skirted New Look silhouettes, bold florals and modernist patterns. It also explores the company's wide social reach, from mill workers to the royal family, and is accompanied by a new publication.
