About
Paintings by Rosalind Nashashibi revisit the discovered Gaza Apollo statue and connect the figure’s disappearance with recurring art-historical motifs and the material pressures of the present.
Nashashibi’s new paintings centre on the ancient bronze Apollo found by a fisherman off Gaza and now missing from public view. Several works depict the statue and its caretakers, while other recurring figures and gestures place older painting traditions in conversation with present-day violence and material life.
