Trauma, Autism, and ADHD
About
A one-day counsellor training in Perth exploring the interconnections between trauma, autism and ADHD, with trauma-informed strategies.
This full-day counsellor training examines how trauma, Autism Spectrum Condition and ADHD interact across the lifespan. Participants learn to differentiate core characteristics of autism and ADHD, how presentations vary by age, gender and culture, and how trauma can mimic or mask neurodivergent traits and contribute to misdiagnosis. The course also considers how being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world can itself be traumatic, and concludes with practical, trauma-informed and affirming strategies for clinical, educational and community settings. The session runs seven hours in person.
