Mini Residency

Artist Sue Hunt worked with Derw Bach preschool children at Oriel Davies Gallery and in Newtown's parkland, inspired by loaned paintings from the National Museum's Contemporary Collection.

Derw Bach preschool took part in a mini residency with Cardiff-based painter Sue Hunt, working at the Nursery, at Oriel Davies Gallery and in Newtown's parkland. The children drew inspiration from paintings on loan from the Contemporary Collection, National Museum and Art Gallery, Cardiff. The residency, funded through CELF: National Contemporary Art Gallery for Wales, encouraged child-led creative exploration with inclusive processes, and was documented by photographer Grace Springer with outdoor exhibition designs by Colour Format printed at scale by Welshpool Print Group.
