The Shark is Broken

The Barn Theatre Club stages Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon's comedy about the chaotic making of Jaws, directed by Simon Wallace.

This amateur production, presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd, is a 90-minute comedy set behind the scenes of the filming of Jaws. Written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon, it follows three actors — portraying Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider — as mechanical sharks malfunction, storms disrupt production and tempers fray during long days at sea. Ian Shaw's perspective on his father Robert Shaw gives the play an intimate angle on the making of Hollywood's first summer blockbuster. It runs from 5th to 13th February 2027, with evening performances at 8pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
