About
Hour-long children's workshops at Yorkshire Air Museum where 5yrs+ build a model De Havilland Gipsy Moth and learn about pilot Amy Johnson.
Children aged five and over learn about Amy Johnson, the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia and the second woman to qualify as a ground engineer. Led by Jenny Lockyer, Creative Director of FLY: The Amy Johnson Festival of Inspiration, each hour-long session ends with participants building their own models of the De Havilland Gipsy Moth she flew. The workshops are part of the FLY Festival's programme celebrating Johnson's legacy ahead of the 2030 centenary of her flight.
