Wild Man and Seer: A Merlin Weekend / Dyn Gwyllt a Gweldydd: Penwythnos Myrddin
About
A weekend of storytelling and scholarship tracing Merlin back to his Welsh origins as Myrddin, hosted by the House of the West Wind at the Dragon Theatre in Barmouth.
Hosted by the House of the West Wind: College of Storytelling, this weekend blends performance, scholarship and place to explore Merlin's roots as Myrddin, the Welsh seer, bard and wild man of the woods. Dr Simon Heywood tells versions of Merlin's story using traditional oral storytelling techniques, with further tales and context from the wider Arthurian landscape from storytellers and researchers Mair Tomos Ifans, Gwilym Morus Baird, Raluca Radulescu, Simon Rodway and Claire Mace. On Sunday afternoon there is an optional walk to Arthur's stone, weather permitting. The event runs mainly in English with some recitation and songs in Welsh, and the storytelling is aimed at adults, though young people over 11 are welcome.
