Lines of Enquiry: Graphic Arts and the Afterlives of Material Past
About
A Collections and Research Day examines how graphic arts shape knowledge of material culture, with early-career research panels and a keynote by artist-printmaker Anne Desmet.
The Society’s annual Collections and Research Day focuses on its Prints and Drawings collection and explores how images record, interpret and circulate knowledge about objects, buildings and landscapes. Seven early-career speakers present research, followed by the keynote “Towers and Transformations: 40 years of printmaking” by artist-printmaker Anne Desmet: Lucie Bea Dutton, Samantha Happé, Grace Fannon, Emilia Hesler Osztafi, Arwyn Owen, Finbarre Snarey and Xiaoze Zhang. The published day runs 10:00–18:00 at Burlington House and includes panels, a lunch interval, afternoon library tours and displays, and a closing reception. The event offers both in-person and online attendance; current in-person tickets are £30 standard or £15 concession, with a free online ticket.
