Panel for grant recipients
About
Three grant recipients discuss an early modern printer, journal publishing in Cameroon and Senegal, and alchemical manuscript symbols.
Michelle Michel presents findings on editions from John Danter’s 1590s printing workshop, drawing on research at the Huntington Library. Stephanie Kitchen traces four humanities and social science journals published in Cameroon and Senegal since the 1960s and the institutional and funding pressures they face. Ellen Hausner introduces the symbolic notation early modern alchemists used for materials, processes and apparatus. The published programme says the meeting is in person and livestreamed; members may bring guests. Physical attendance requirements and price are not stated.
