Family Nest Box Building

A hands-on family workshop at Rutland Water building a bird nest box to take home, celebrating National Nest Box Week.

Families work together to assemble a flat-packed bird nest box from scratch in the classroom at the Anglian Water Bird Watching Centre, timed for National Nest Box Week. The session lasts around two hours and includes learning how the finished box provides a safe home for garden birds. Each family takes its handcrafted box home. Suitable for ages 6 and over, with under-18s supervised by an adult.
