About
A curator talk exploring the meanings and techniques behind the remarkable colours found in Chinese ceramics and glass.
This talk explores the meanings behind the remarkable colours and the techniques used to create them. It is presented through a tour of Bristol’s world-class Chinese collection. Chinese potters perfected ceramic production, creating glazes inspired by the natural world. Colour also became a way to express taste, status, and fashion in imperial China.
