Exhibition: Seen in the Trees – Tansy Lee Moir
About
An exhibition of charcoal drawings, paintings and monoprints inspired by old trees by Edinburgh-based artist Tansy Lee Moir, at Arundells' Studio.
Tansy Lee Moir's work is inspired by trees and how their history shapes them, which she describes as old trees being 'time made wood'. Working in charcoal and natural pigments, she forages for images in wooded locations around Scotland and her native Peak District, then develops drawings, paintings and monoprints in the studio around themes of struggle, resilience, inventiveness and endurance. This exhibition at Arundells, her eighth solo show, runs in The Studio from 16 July to 26 October and invites viewers to make their own meaning from works that blur the boundaries between human and more-than-human.
