Sonic Cinema: Daïchi Saïto

Three experimental films by Daïchi Saïto are shown from his own 35mm prints, followed by an in-person Q&A with the filmmaker and curator Oliver Dickens.

The Sonic Cinema programme includes earthearthearth (2021), Trees of Syntax, Leaves of Axis (2009), and Engram of Returning (2015). The films explore landscapes, perception and the relationship between sound and image through photochemical processes. Saïto joins Oliver Dickens for a Q&A after the screening. Cinema 1 has step-free access; films are normally 18+ and begin with a curated trailer selection.
