Basic Nursing Skills – Hospital Discharge Training

A free face-to-face course teaching family carers basic nursing skills to help prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.

This free face-to-face course teaches family carers basic nursing skills to help keep the person they care for healthy and avoid unwanted hospital stays or re-admissions. Topics include spotting signs of infection and what action to take, skin care and prevention of pressure sores and ulcers, dealing with swallowing problems (dysphagia), and knowing where to go or who to call if unwell out of hours. Attendance certificates are provided to all attendees, and the training is produced in partnership with CEPN with funding from NHS Health Education England.
