Christmas Truce Match Talk: Truth or Myth
About
An evening talk at the Green Howards Museum examining whether the famous Christmas Truce football match is truth or myth, with festive food and drink.
The Green Howards Museum hosts an in-person evening exploring the story behind the famous Christmas Truce match of the First World War. The evening opens with a welcome glass of Gluhwein in the circle room before moving to the Normanby Room, where a platter of German sausage, breads and cheeses is served with a glass of German wine or beer. Green Howards Officer Jonathan Cunningham then gives a talk examining the truths and myths of that Christmas day event. Spaces are limited and early booking is recommended.
