About
Andy Stuart’s First World War talk looks beyond the famous Christmas Truce to the varied experiences of troops at the front.
Andy Stuart explores Christmas on active service during the First World War, including the Royal gift box, food and drink in the trenches, officers’ Gunfire Tea, early aerial bombing, snow and a gambling scam. The talk sets these episodes alongside the much-repeated story of the Christmas Truce. Tickets are £8 for Uckfield Heritage members and £10 for non-members, plus booking fees; free Personal Assistant tickets are offered for disabled visitors.
