UK Premiere: The Magic of It All - The Story of Strawbs + Q&A with director & Derek “Blue” Weaver

A documentary follows Strawbs frontman Dave Cousins as he completes a final album after a cancer diagnosis and months of isolation. The UK premiere is followed by a Q&A with the director and Derek “Blue” Weaver.

Directed by Niel Van Deventer, the film recounts Cousins’s 2022 trip to Cape Town for a recording session that became an extended final act. Rick Wakeman and Tony Visconti feature in a story of artistic rebirth, friendship and sacrifice. The official cinema page presents it as a tribute to Strawbs and music.
