Beethoven Now

An afternoon of readings, string quartet excerpts, and discussion exploring Beethoven's life, presented by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra presents Beethoven Now, an afternoon of readings, performances, and debate. Samuel West reads from Beethoven's letters, while BSO String Principals perform string quartet excerpts. Dame Evelyn Glennie discusses the musical and social implications of deafness, and John Suchet talks about his biography, Beethoven: The Man Revealed. The event concludes with an 'Any Questions' debate chaired by Jonathan Dimbleby, and is part of the BSO's 18-month 'Road to Joy' Beethoven Cycle.
