Writing Workshops: Storylands Sessions
About
A relaxed creative writing workshop using everyday objects from the Highland Folk Museum's collection as prompts, led by Karen Hodgson Pryce.
Storylands Sessions hosts a two-hour writing workshop inside the Am Fasgadh building at the Highland Folk Museum, sometimes moving outdoors when the weather allows. Each session explores a small selection of objects from the museum's collection or surroundings — a lantern, boots, a cooking pot, an old tool — as starting points for writing in any genre, from stories and poems to memoir, drama and fantasy. Open to anyone aged 16+, with no writing experience needed; visual artists are also welcome to respond to the objects in their own media. The format includes short prompts, time to write, optional sharing, and tea and conversation.
