The Horsham Film Society presents Johan Grimonprez's film Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat, shown in its original languages (Dutch, English, Russian, French and Arabic) with English subtitles. Set at the United Nations in 1960, the film follows the Global South's political upheaval, jazz musicians at the Security Council, Khrushchev's shoe-banging, and Louis Armstrong's US State Department trip to the Congo amid the CIA-backed coup. A short introductory talk takes place at 8pm before the 150-minute film begins.
