Dr. Humphrey Sitters - A Lifetime of Ornithology in Devon and Beyond
About
Ornithologist Dr Humphrey Sitters talks about his lifetime of bird research in Devon and worldwide, from the Devon breeding atlas to wader studies.
Dr Humphrey Sitters, former President of the Devon Birdwatching and Preservation Society (now Devon Birds), gives an afternoon talk for the Devonshire Association. He describes his early work on the first Atlas of Breeding Birds in Devon, a 12-year project, and an eight-year study of night feeding by oystercatchers on the Exe estuary. As editor of the journal Wader Study, he has also travelled worldwide studying waders and their long-distance flight paths. Tickets are sold on the door and no booking is required.
