Mixed Media: Still Life
About
A five-week Wednesday afternoon art course at Mary Ward Centre exploring still life through mixed media such as collage, graphite, paint, wax and mono-printing.
This five-week course uses still life displays set up in the classroom as the basis for mixed media artwork. Students work with collaged papers and a range of drawing materials, which may include graphite, paint, wax, bleach, glue and mono-printing, exploring ways to layer and add depth, texture, tone and pattern. The course references both historical and contemporary artworks, and all basic materials are provided, with some heavier papers available to buy in class at cost price. The tutor can advise on follow-on courses or project ideas for home or studio work.
