Willow Star Making Workshop with Janie

A cosy Saturday afternoon workshop with Janie of hand & heart basketry, making a willow star woven with fairy lights.

Participants select sturdy natural-coloured willow to build a star frame, then weave flexible willow rods to secure it and finish by interlacing fairy lights for sparkle. The willow is grown in Northumberland and harvested by hand, and all materials and tools are provided. Some finger strength is needed for weaving, with soft fibre alternatives available on request. The finished stars can be hung or displayed indoors or outside over winter.
