Hour Before Nightfall
About
A stage play based on the true story of Cornish hermit Frederick Densham, staged at the Barbican Theatre as part of its autumn tour.
Hour Before Nightfall is a fast-moving stage play based on the true story of Frederick Densham, an eccentric hermit who lived in the remote Bodmin Moor village of Warleggan from 1931 until his death in 1953. The story, written about by Daphne du Maurier and others, follows the evolving relationship between Rev Densham and a young American journalist from Life Magazine on her first European assignment. This performance is the only Plymouth date on the play's nine-venue autumn tour of Cornwall and Devon, and runs for two hours with doors at 7pm.
