Japanese Printmaking Studio
About
A hands-on half-term printmaking workshop exploring traditional Japanese ukiyo-e prints, led by artist Kiri Horikiri-White.
This February half-term workshop invites participants to discover the bold imagery and storytelling of traditional Japanese ukiyo-e prints and how contemporary artists draw on them today. Attendees experiment with a range of printmaking techniques to develop their own designs and create original Japanese-inspired prints. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided; participants are asked to bring a packed lunch, a water bottle and clothes they don't mind getting messy. The session is led by British-Japanese artist and printmaker Kiri Horikiri-White, whose work explores identity, memory and cultural heritage.
