أحمد [Ahmed] – Four-Day residency – Pat Thomas / Antonin Gerbal / Joel Grip / Seymour Wright

Ahmed return for four nights of rhythm-heavy improvisation rooted in the music and unrealised possibilities of Ahmed Abdul-Malik.

Pat Thomas, Antonin Gerbal, Joel Grip and Seymour Wright repeatedly remake Abdul-Malik's work through piano, drums, double bass and alto saxophone. Across the residency, repetition, swing and syncopation provide the base for an intense collective sound.
