Ukrainian Vybiyka Block Printing

A three-hour beginner-friendly workshop learning traditional Ukrainian Vybiyka block printing with artist Valeria Leonova.

This hands-on workshop introduces Vybiyka, a historic Ukrainian textile printing technique using hand-carved wooden blocks to create ornamental patterns on fabric. Participants experiment with different motifs before designing their own textile piece to take home, with all materials provided. Led by artist and children's book illustrator Valeria Leonova, the session runs for three hours and is open to anyone aged 12 or over, from complete beginners to experienced creatives. Hat Works Café will be open during the workshop serving light lunches, baked treats and drinks.
