Santa Sangre (1990)

A former circus performer breaks out of a psychiatric hospital and falls back under the sway of his armless mother, a cult figure who compels him to carry out savage killings on her behalf.

Alejandro Jodorowsky's 1989 blend of horror, drama and thriller follows a onetime circus artist who escapes a mental institution and rejoins his mother, a cult leader born without arms. Acting as her literal hands, he is drawn into committing brutal murders in her name. The film stars Axel Jodorowsky and Blanca Guerra, with Guy Stockwell among the supporting cast.
