Reimagined SMAS Business Improvement Academy, Dumfries
About
A 10-day LCS-accredited Lean business improvement programme for manufacturers, run by SMAS/Scottish Enterprise, starting with a session in Dumfries.
The Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service's reimagined Business Improvement Academy is a 10-day programme running from 18 February to 3 June 2027, now accredited by Cardiff University's Lean Competency System. Delegates attend expert-led workshops, complete a live improvement project, take part in a best practice visit and on-site coaching, and sit a final exam to earn LCS certification. Sponsoring business leaders attend a half-day session on 18 February and the final participants' presentation day on 3 June. The programme targets managers, directors and change leaders at manufacturing and process-driven businesses, with eligibility confirmed at an initial meeting.
