Cities of Sound: New York, Berlin, Vienna

The BBC National Orchestra of Wales performs Langer, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21, Antheil and Stravinsky under conductor Anna Rakitina.

Conductor Anna Rakitina leads the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in a programme spanning classical brilliance and twentieth-century modernism. The evening opens with Elena Langer's suite from Figaro Gets a Divorce, followed by Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major with pianist Clare Hammond. After the interval, George Antheil's Jazz Symphony and Stravinsky's Symphony in Three Movements bring a bold, jazzy and propulsive finale.
