Strauss & Wagner

A BBC Hoddinott Hall orchestral concert pairing Strauss's Four Last Songs with Wagner's Tristan und Isolde: An Orchestral Passion, conducted by Anthony Hermus.

This orchestral concert brings together two late-Romantic works: Richard Strauss's Four Last Songs (1948), a contemplative meditation on love, transience and release, and Henk de Vlieger's arrangement of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde: An Orchestral Passion, a 60-minute orchestral synthesis of the opera. The programme runs with a 20-minute interval and is conducted by Anthony Hermus. Under-16s must be seated with an adult aged 18 or over, and under-2s are not admitted.
