Crane Park (Mill Road) - Maintaining Laid Hedge
About
A free TCV volunteer conservation day maintaining a laid hedgerow and coppicing along the River Crane in Crane Park, Twickenham.
Volunteers join the Biodiversity Action Team (West London) to maintain sections of laid hedgerow along the main pathway, pruning new growth, pushing back suckering growth and re-laying branches into the existing hedge. The session may also include coppicing work along the River Crane banks to let in light and support vegetation for water voles. Tools, training, a safety briefing and hot drinks are provided; participants bring a packed lunch, suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. The session runs from 10am to 4pm and is open to adults aged 18 and over.
