Orpheus

A reimagining of Monteverdi's Orpheus, blending baroque music with Indian classical traditions.

This production reimagines the myth of Orpheus by merging Monteverdi's baroque masterpiece with music from the Indian classical tradition. South Asian artists and Opera North musicians perform the piece, which interweaves original Italian text with translations by Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE and others. The performance explores a dialogue across cultures and time.
