Willow Lantern Workshops – October Half Term

Family willow lantern-making workshops for Halloween half term, using willow collected on the Stanwick Lakes reserve.

These two-hour family workshops in the Discovery Zone let children build their own lantern from willow cut by the reserve's Rangers during conservation work. Participants construct a frame, add twinkling lights and cover it with white tissue paper before decorating with spooky Halloween designs. No experience is needed, but young children must be supervised, with no more than two under-10s per adult. Sessions run at 10.30am and 2pm on both days; the Thursday morning session is sold out.
