About

Dr Peter Halkon traces the changing prehistoric landscape of the Foulness Valley, from the Palaeolithic to the Iron Age, including elephant remains, ironworking, Arras Culture burials and the Hasholme logboat. Tea and coffee are available from 10:45.

This talk explores the archaeology and changing landscape of the southwestern Yorkshire Wolds and eastern Vale of York around the River Foulness. Finds include straight-tusked elephant bones, an important Iron Age iron industry associated with the Arras Culture and chariot burials, and the Hasholme logboat, now held by the Hull and East Riding Museum. Tea and coffee are available from 10:45.
