Singing in Retirement

This course provides enjoyment and mental stimulation through singing a wide range of songs, from medieval to modern, while introducing basic vocal technique and music notation.

The course aims to encourage good singing habits, focusing on posture and breathing. The material includes folk songs, classical pieces by composers like Mozart and Schubert, opera choruses, and songs from musicals. Sessions begin with warm-up activities and voice development exercises, and songs are taught mostly by rote with written handouts.
