About

Explore a locally discovered 10-metre Ichthyosaur fossil and the Jurassic marine environment it illuminates.

A 10-metre ichthyosaur found in the Bridport Sand Formation offers new evidence about Jurassic marine reptiles. Visitors can explore the discovery through a specially produced film and virtual-reality experience. The exhibition opens 24 October 2026 and is advertised through April 2027. Its listing and poster give different closing days within April; check with the Museum before planning a late-season visit. Expert winter talks are mentioned, but their dates are unpublished.
